When I saw this TED Talks Presentation recently (even though it was actually delivered a few of years ago), I was floored.
Simon Sinek encapsulates in one short talk what I have worked to communicate to clients, colleagues and friends for years. My shorthand has long been that the key to strong messaging is to understand that people buy with their hearts and then justify with their heads. Mr. Sinek plows the same ground, but with a slightly different – and much stronger –analytical framework.
His point is spot-on, and anyone interested in being a better marketer, leader, manager, teacher or just plain communicator should study this video carefully.
It really is some of the best strategic communications advice ever, and I can imagine few better investments of 20 minutes of your time:
